TO EXPECT
Katmai Oncology Group now offers the ability to fill prescriptions for its patients that are receiving oral chemotherapy medications. Often called Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) or In-Office Dispensary (IOD). A dispensary is like a pharmacy but is located at the doctor’s office or clinic. Our dispensary only accepts prescriptions from providers that work at KOG and can only be picked up (dispensed) to the patient at our clinic. Unfortunately, we are unable to mail prescriptions to patients at this time.
- Patients that utilize the dispensary for their oral chemotherapy medications still receive the same high-quality care as a specialty pharmacy. We can offer real-time help with prescriptions, questions, or concerns.
- Our dispensary is managed by Tiffany Rudisill who is a nationally certified pharmacy technician. She has been a pharmacy technician for over 10 years and can assist with all types of pharmacy insurance related concerns. All counseling of medications will have to be answered by provider or nurse, but our dispensary manager can assist with: • Processing Prior Authorization • Resolving quantity or day supply issues • Finding alternative medications that are covered by insurance • Help find copay assistance or possible free medications available through the manufacture • Aid in locating grants for copay assistance and help process applications
